May 2017 - Vol. 3 - No. 4

Greetings one and all!!

I hope everyone is staying dry, especially those in the Midwest. The St. Louis area has been hit hard by large quantities of rain and flooding. Hopefully, the high waters will recede and we can all continue on in the flow of life without hindrance as the school year and performance seasons draws to a close. While you are wading through the celebrations, summer planning and the like, take a moment to read this issue of “Theodore Talks”. Enjoy!

All things music and creative!

First off, I wish to again thank all of you who have become a patron in support of my new project, Seasonal Scriptures in Song on Patreon.com.

The patronage has grown a little bit more over the past month. I have released the second song of the project, Peace I Leave with You, available to the Café Latte level and higher patrons, on April 26th. This song happens to also be my daughter’s confirmation verse (i.e. I wrote it for her and dedicated it to her).

As mentioned last month, I will continue to network and market so as to grow the support each month, thus serving more and more people and congregations.

I would love to have your support in this exciting venture, even if only at the $1 or $3 levels! To find out how you can become one of my patrons, check out my Patreon project page at: www.patreon.com/TheodoreJander.

Holy Week and Easter Sunday were fruitful and praise worthy celebrations. I am grateful for all the instrumentalists, singers, and other participants who committed their time and NRG into making the services come to life in prayer and praise.

Living Life to the +Plus!

Even though the following appeared in previous issues of “Theodore Talks”, I felt inclined to share the information again to highlight the benefits of water in the midst of the damage the rain and flooding has caused. So, this month’s tip for taking one simple step to harmonious health is all about:

The Benefits of Drinking Water
+Increases NRG
+Increases metabolism, promoting weight loss
+Helps build and repair muscle
+Great for the skin and keeps you looking young
+Boosts your immune system
+Flushes toxins
+Great for your joints, aches and pains
+Maintains pH balance in the body
+Promotes regularity and helps digestion

So, drink up!

Devotional Life!
Over the next few months I will be sharing with you an adaptation of an adaptation of devotional practices shared in the information bulletin at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. The suggestions are applicable to all types of situations and backgrounds.

Devotions - many of us have our favorite devotionals that we like to read. However, some may not have quite found successful ways to incorporate devotions into daily activities. Fortunately, there is more than one way to have devotions—or some quiet time with God. Plus, each person’s rituals and traditions will differ. That said, this is the first offering of alternative means to carry out devotions and finding that quiet time for meditation, prayer, etc.

Listen to sacred or Christian music - Great music can really help you focus on peace of mind and even more so on God and His word. So, queue up a great song and really listen to it. Focus on the words and pray as you listen or after the song is done. (And, for those of you who are patrons at the Café Latte level and up of my new project, Seasonal Scriptures in Song, you have brand, spankin’ new music to utilize and even sing as your meditation or as prayer.)

Watch an inspirational music video - Inspirational videos are great for when you are tired and still wanting to pray and calm your brain before nodding off to sleep. Jump onto YouTube and type in your favorite song title. A great number of slide shows have been compiled and created over the past many years. These videos add unique dimensions of meaning and expression to the words.

Journal - Journaling what you learn as you read Scripture or other inspirational materials can make all the difference. Just taking the time to write a few lines can add so much more meaning and impact.
